Then, Redmond officials seemed to be confirming the rumor. As announced by Microsoft Team’s product marketing officer Anupam Pattnaik in a late March 2023 blog post, the new Microsoft Teams is now live on the preview version of the app on the desktop.  With that being said, however, not everyone is happy about the announcement, which seems to always be the case every time a newer version of an app comes out.  Some users may like several features that were only available on the previous classic version of Teams, or just simply won’t like to migrate to the newer version. If you’re a user of the new Teams and you could relate to this problem, then this article is for you. Read further to find out how you can switch back to the previous classic version of Teams.

How to switch back to the previous classic version of Teams.

  1. On your upper left corner, check if there’s a toggle that says New Teams, near Teams’ logo in PRE (Preview).
  2. Toggle it off to switch back to classic, and vice versa.  With that being said, being a preview release-only software, bugs on the new Teams are bound to happen. Then, we may need to wait a little longer until it arrives for general availability.  In the meantime, if you’re also having a problem with data usage on Teams and you want to limit it, we’ve prepared a simple workaround you can try.
