As noted from their statistics, we’re looking at a -10.35% decrease in users’ percentage of Windows 11 OS compared to February’s figure. Matter of fact, almost all Windows operating systems have experienced a slight downfall in numbers but Windows 11 takes the most hit.  Interestingly, however, Windows 10 is looking quite good. The operating system was released back in 2015, but is now sitting comfortably on the table with a +10.97% and still remains the most popular operating system among Steam Windows users.  On the other hand, Intel still dominates processor usage with 76.18%, compared to AMD’s 23.80%. Almost all users are also using the latest DirectX 12 GPUs with 94.47%.

Windows 11’s massive drop in the market share on Steam won’t look good for Microsoft

It’s not good news for Microsoft, especially since Redmond officials saw that almost 30% of Steam users have switched to Windows 11 according to January 2023’s statistics.  At that time, we reported that 29% of Steam users have switched to Windows 11, and Microsoft’s operating system family keeps holding the market tight with a 96.15% market share (+0.04). Apple is second with 2.48% (+0.03), and Linux is third with 1.38% (-0.06). However, please note that participation in the survey is optional, so the data does not really represent 100% of Steam users. Are you also using Steam on Windows 11?
